In Half-Life, there's a bug that, well, makes life difficult for people with more than two gigs of memory. This is mostly copied from a forum post, but it turns out someone ELSE has made a fix for the problem. That someone also knows the Windows API better than I do, and wrote about it all here If you want a more detailed explanation, you have one forum you can root through and one link up above. This is just the fix, which will require a hex editor. Replace the following bytes: Code: .text:00413020 81 EC C0 00 00 00 53 56 8D 44 24 14 57 50 C7 44 .text:00413030 24 1C 20 00 00 00 FF 15 AC D1 4A 00 8B 44 24 20 .text:00413040 3D 00 00 F0 00 A3 40 28 4E 00 *_7D 28_* DB 44 24 20 .text:00413050 83 EC 08 D8 0D BC F0 4A 00 DD 1C 24 6A 4F 6A 00 with 73 28 (jae) or EB 28 (jmp).Works for me, but I never had a problem. Only person who's come to me so far said it worked, but I can't guarantee anti-cheat programs won't complain. |
