Silencer is another WON game. When the WON servers went down oh so many years ago, Silencer went down with them. Someone asked about it on the forums, and I got interested (it's all an adventure to me). Silencer was an exercise in reverse engineering a Windows binary, and it's what got me started on that speciality. The objective was to strip out the WON authentication so that people could play games. A perfect solution wasn't expected by me at least (I can't say the same for the community), and the current patch is both rickety and lacking in security. I keep hearing that Mind Crontrol Studios (them's the makers) are going to release the source code. But it keeps not happening. There are fan remakes being attempted, but I am not involved in any. I have however documented some of the file formats, and somewhere out there is a luibrary I wrote that converted all the sprites into PNGs. I've included the docs here; more invested parties can always find me to extract more.
